Yvonne began painting in 1972 and immediately found a creative outlet perfect for the time when her two children were young and family activities took priority. The love of painting as a hobby grew into painting for sale, gifts, teaching and designing. After many pattern packets, Yvonne has authored six books (the first three "Cottages I & II" and "Christmas from Pumpkin Ridge" are out of print and have been made into packets). "Seasons from Pumpkin Ridge" volumes I, II & III are the last three published by Pumpkin Ridge Design, begun with husband Jerry. Her favorite subjects are Christmas designs, angels and scenes of cottages that reflect the warmth of home & family. Keeping a balance between the business of painting and the joy of painting is a priority. The publishing duties and the designing of the newest book comes first, then classes at home, (some of her students have been with her for over 20 years), exhibiting at the SDP National Convention and teaching seminars across the United States & Canada. The focus will be to help individual students finish existing projects. Ideally, but not limited to something I have taught. If you would like to have my sample available, let me know. By spring, I would like to offer projects also, probably devoting 2 classes per month to a specific project. The rest would then be open classes, where you can bring in anything you want. For now, you may sign up for one, two or more classes at a time to finish your projects.
