Marv Kaisersatt April 2nd and 3rd 2005, Heritage Arts Studio was proud to host nationally renowned Caricature Carver of America, Marv Kaisersatt. Marv hails from Faribault (suburb of Lake Woebegone), Minnesota. Since ice fishing season was over, he elected to enjoy some Pacific Northwest fun and sun, out here in North Plains, Oregon. |

Jeff Harness Every other month or so, I have been organizing a face carving seminar in which we build on basic structures. Each session, I add either a new facial feature or expression. We carve in cottonwood bark, because of the speed / ease that it carves, and the interesting textures that each piece of bark contains. because of the unique character of each piece of bark, each project becomes unique. This time around, I made them carve a face without a mustache - they had to carve the mouth! Some carved open smiling mouths both straight and crooked, some added one crooked tooth. |

Terri Kramer During the first 2 weekends in April, 2006, Heritage Arts Studio was proud to host nationally renowned woodcarver, sculptor, and nifty flint napper, Terry Kramer, to our studio in North Plains, Oregon. Many have probably read or own a copy of his “Carving the Realistic Native American Face”. Well, the book was great, but Terry, in person, is much better! |

St. Edward The St. Edwards project was commissioned by the St. Edwards Catholic Church of North Plains, Oregon. Kelley Stadelman, church member, felt the need to tackle another LARGE carving, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. Having extensive carving experience, she realized that proper preparation and research were a must, for a project of this magnitude. |

Lady of New haven That was the challenge that faced Kelley Stadelman and Harry Alsman this past summer, when They were commissioned to carve a four foot tall ship's figurehead in just four short weeks. The figurehead was commissioned to be displayed in a new home at the Hillsboro, Or. Street of Dreams. |
