A holiday feast of tasty goodies! |
|
On Sunday, December 9th, 2007, the HWCA held it's 1st official meeting, at the Heritage Arts Studio in North Plains, Oregon. Members met from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. A wide variety of holiday goodies were consumed, lots of chips were made, and many projects were painted - varnished - burned with a propane torch, antiqued, etc... Approximately 30 members attended, and from what I can tell, a good time was had by all. Kelley Stadelman demonstrated painting techniques from 11:00 am till about noon. Several members commented to me that this was exactly what they needed to finish projects before Christmas. Periodically, a raffle drawing was made, in which winning members could select an item from the raffle table (wood, patterns, holiday wrapping paper and ornaments). You can't lose money in an HWCA raffle - tickets are free! The travel agent informed us that our bill for the cruise went up by $35 for fuel (I don't know how many m.p.g.s you get in a cruise ship). We all voted that our next meeting will be held Sunday, March 2nd, 2008 - 10:00am to 5:00pm I look forward to seeing you all, there. Make Chips! Jeff Harness |
